July 28, 2009: Lesson Plan 2 Presentation
Well it was the last class and I presented my lesson plan 2. My lesson was about fractions and I used a birthday party to teach. The presentation was kind of hard to explain everything and I zoomed through my power point but it's all over now... Wow! Now I can have a summer....well kind of! :)

Today in class we learned about wikis and podcasts. We used a wiki to sign up for our presentation times. I had a hard time with it and none of my corrections would work but I got it figured out so it was all okay. The podcasts were neat and a creative way to show information. It was a fun class!

Web Site Evaluation
The evaluation form I used was from http://www.ncsu.edu/midlink/tutorial/WWW.eval.html. I chose this from because I think it was useful that the form broke the evaluation into sections and also evaluated the site as a whole. I think a web evaluation form helps me evaluated the entire website, instead of only pieces. The web evaluation sheet also led me to look at different aspects of the website. I think an evaluation would always be useful especially if students will be using the site.
Class Today: July 7, 2009
Today we learned how to use Google.docs and learned how to use spreadsheets. I think this is a wonderful tool and would be great to use in my future classroom. I think it is a great way to make sure all the students are doing their own work and giving them specific sites you would like them to use. I think this would help me manage my classroom and solve some the problems that would occur in the computer lab.
Class Today: July 2, 2009
Today in class we learned about Skype. I think this is a great tool and a wonderful way to help people across the world. We also did a group WebQuest project. I think these kinds of activities would need a lot of preparation but I think it would be great for students and give them an experience they would never forget. What a great way to make learning creative and fun!
Class Today: June 30, 2009
During class today we learned how to touch up pictures. I have a seen people use programs similar to Picasa but I had never done it myself. I was amazed at how easily it was to make normal pictures look almost professional. I think this is a great tool. I was also impressed and thought it was wonderful how patient Dennis Garner, the teacher was with each of the students. He really took time to show many people step by step through problems. I will definitely use this program in the future!
